Student Responsibilities

Calendar

The five member schools of the Colleges of the Fenway do not have the same academic calendar. All classes will start each semester within two weeks of each other. Students are responsible for following the calendar of the host institution. Students are also responsible for discussing housing needs with their home institution. If a conflict exists between calendars, it is the student’s responsibility to negotiate an acceptable resolution with the appropriate faculty members (i.e. final exams at the same time). During inclement weather classes cancel at one school may not be cancelled at another. It is the student’s responsibility to check for closings at both home and host institutions and attend classes that are held. All colleges list their closing on WBZ radio (1030 AM) and television (Channel 4-1).

Course Fees

A cross-registered course is counted as part of the student’s academic load at the home institution and tuition is paid to the student’s home institution under the policies of that institution. All course-specific fees, such as lab fees or program fees associated with Travel Courses, are the responsibility of the student.

Faculty Approval and Degree Requirements

It is the student’s responsibility to work with their academic or faculty advisor to determine whether or not a particular course satisfies the requirements for a major, minor, certification or license and graduation.

Policies of Host Institution

All students taking a course at a host college must abide by all appropriate attendance policies, honor system, parking regulations, etc. at the host institution.
