Why Environmental Science at the Colleges of the Fenway?

Colleges of the Fenway is committed to providing excellence in environmental science education. The Environmental Science Program at COF offers unique opportunities for you to use the many specialized state-of-the-art laboratories and facility resources located within the COF system. Over 15 full-time faculty with expertise in environmental science specialty areas teach at the six colleges.

Present your research! Eat lunch with Nobel Laureates, HHMI professors, and other scientists! Show your senior thesis to your peers!

What: The Inaugural Boston-wide Undergraduate Research Symposium (BURS)

When: Saturday, April 11, 2009 between 9AM-5 PM

Who: Harvard, MIT, Boston University, Boston College, Northeastern University, and others.

Why: To showcase your research and meet faculty and your peers

Keynote speakers: Dr. Robert Langer (MIT), Dr. Daniel Schrag (Harvard),
Dr. Bruce Walker (Harvard Medical School)

Undergraduate researchers from any field and from any class can participate.
Freshmen! You are also encouraged to apply if you have conducted research in
high school. Seniors! Present the thesis you spent months working on and show it
to
your friends. Please visit http://burs2009.org to apply to be a poster presenter
and/or plenary speaker. Additionally, all abstracts will be published in the BURS Abstract
Book 2009, which is distributed throughout the Boston colleges.

There will be a registration fee of $20 to help with cover some of the expenses of
BURS. Thus far, the following colleges have generously agreed to cover the
registration fee for their students: Harvard, MIT, Boston College, Northeastern.
Unless otherwise noted, students from other colleges should prepare payment the
day of the symposium
