COF INTRAMURALS

IS THERE GREATNESS IN YOU?

Registered Teams
What is it?
Well, if we tell you what it is, then that will ruin all of
the fun, now wouldn’t it? We think an element of surprise
is important here. Just think Amazing Race, with a Boston
twist! This year's event is also a charitable event in that
all proceeds will go to charity.
Since I’m venturing into the great unknown,
can I have a partner?
Of course you can. Actually, you can only participate with
a partner. The Great Race is intended for two people. At least one member of the team MUST be a COF student, faculty or staff. The other member can be a family member, friend or fellow COF student, faculty or staff member.
What do I have to do?
The Great Race is a measure of your geographical skills, your
ability to navigate the fine Mass Transit system here in Boston,
and your innate ability to remember useless trivia all wrapped
up in one. You don’t have to be a runner, you don’t even have
to be in shape to take home the prize!
Does it cost anything?
The cost is 20 can goods per person, which is a charitable donation. For your 20 canned good donation, you receive a long-sleeved event t-shirt, t-pass for the day, continental breakfast, over the shoulder bag, food on the course, entrance to locations, post-race meal, raffle tickets for door prizes, refreshments and snacks for your bag. Acceptable donations
How long will it last?
The entire event, from registration to conclusion will be
about 4-6 hours.
When does the fun begin?
The race will be held on Saturday, April 18th. Race Day Information
session will begin at 9am, with the race starting at 10am.
All participants must attend the Race Day Information session
in order to compete.
If I competed in the event last year, am
I eligible this year?
The course will be completely different than the course used
in 2006, 2007, and 2008 so all Colleges of the Fenway students, faculty and
staff are eligible to compete.
How do I sign up?
Click here to access the online registration website.
What are the prizes?
Prizes will be top notch and the top three finishers receive
prizes. Prizes could be anything from round trip airfare in
the Continental US to gift certificates to restaurant vouchers. The 50th percentile and 75th percentile finishers also receive prizes. We also have door prizes.
All participants receive a long-sleeved t-shirt, a shoulder
bag, pre-race breakfast items, snacks and refreshments to
take on the race (water, granola bars, etc.), post race meal,
a day T-pass, and the chance to win some fantastic prizes,
all while helping out a very charitable organization.
Pre-Race Meeting
There will be a pre-race meeting the week before. More info will be e-mailed to all participants.
