COF INTRAMURALS

Registered Teams
What is it?
Well, if we tell you what it is, then that will ruin all of
the fun, now wouldn’t it? We think an element of surprise
is important here. Just think Amazing Race, with a Boston
twist! This year's event is also a charitable event in that
all proceeds will go to charity.
Since I’m venturing into the great unknown,
can I have a partner?
Of course you can. Actually, you can only participate with
a partner. The Great Race is intended for two people. At least one member of the team MUST be a COF student, faculty or staff. The other member can be a family member, friend or fellow COF student, faculty or staff member.
What do I have to do?
The Great Race is a measure of your geographical skills, your
ability to navigate the fine Mass Transit system here in Boston,
and your innate ability to remember useless trivia all wrapped
up in one. You don’t have to be a runner, you don’t even have
to be in shape to take home the prize!
How long will it last?
The entire event, from registration to conclusion will be
about 4-6 hours.
When does the fun begin?
The race will be held on Sunday, March 30th. Race Day Information
session will begin at 9am, with the race starting at 10am.
The information session will be held at the Mass Art Gymnasium.
All participants must attend the Race Day Information session
in order to compete.
If I competed in the event last year, am
I eligible this year?
The course will be completely different than the course used
in 2006 and 2007 so all Colleges of the Fenway students, faculty and
staff are eligible to compete.
How do I sign up?
You may register for The Great Race by sending
an e-mail to Brad Tittrington at btittrington@colleges-fenway.org with your name, your team name and partner's
name and what school you are associated with.
What are the prizes?
Prizes will be top notch and the top three finishers receive
prizes. Prizes could be anything from round trip airfare in
the Continental US to Red Sox memoralbilia to Dinner Vouchers.
All participants receive a long-sleeved t-shirt, a shoulder
bag, pre-race breakfast items, snacks and refreshments to
take on the race (water, granola bars, etc.), post race meal,
a day T-pass, and the chance to win some fantastic prizes,
all while helping out a very charitable organization.
Pre-Race Meeting
There will be a pre-race meeting on Thursday, March 27th at 8pm. At least one team member must attend the meeting. Location will be sent to all registered teams on Tuesday, March 25th.
