Tennis Rules

Format

The format will be a double elimination tournament.

Players will schedule all matches between themselves. All matches will take place at the tennis courts at Wentworth. League information will be posted on the website with contact information for each player. It is the players' responsibility to contact his/her opponent to schedule a mutually agreed upon time to play their match. Players will have one week to complete each scheduled match. Once completed, results should be e-mailed to Brad Tittrington and the web will be updated.

U.S.T.A. rules will govern play. Tennis is a self-officiated sport. If any disagreement occurs, it shall be mutually agreed to replay the point or situation involved. Matches will be in the form of a best-of-three-set match. Rotating sides will be permissible. A person must win by two games to win the set. In the event a set is tied at six games apiece, a tiebreaker shall be used to determine the winner of the set.

Forfeits

If a person forfeits a match, they will be removed from the league.

Equipment

Players may furnish their own equipment. Then intramural office in the lower level of Beatty Hall at WIT has tennis balls and racquets that may be borrowed as well.
