Yawkey Center at Emmanuel College. The majority of matches will take place on Sundays.

Rules
All play will be governed by the National Federation of State
High School Association Rules.
General Information
Format: Teams will be placed in pools and will compete against
each team in their pool. Following pool play, a single elimination
tournament will take place involving all teams who have not
forfeitted during league play. Teams' pool play records will
determine their seedings.
Eligibility:
All players:
1. May play for only one men's or women's team and/or one
co-intramural team.
2. Must be a student or faculty/staff member at one of the
Colleges of the Fenway.
Scheduling: Teams should arrive 15 minutes prior to game
time. A team not signed-in and ready to play at game time
will forfeit the game.
Game results: Results will be posted by noon following the
day of the game. Team captains should check the World Wide
Web to make sure the score of the game has been recorded correctly.
Any discrepancies in the score must be notified via email
to Brad Tittrington.
RULES
National Federation of State High School Association Rules
will be in effect except for the following modifications.
A. Equipment
Teams are encouraged to bring their own volleyball(s), however;
there are Intramural volleyballs available for checkout.
Illegal Equipment includes:
All jewelry (i.e. barrettes, ear rings, necklaces, yard bracelets,
etc.) Ear rings or any other jewelry CANNOT be taped.
A guard, cast or brace made of hard substance
Headwear (i.e. bandanna, caps, etc...) will not be allowed.
A one-piece head/sweat band that does not have to be tied
will be allowed.
B. Players
1. Co-Intramural Modifications:
a. A team can play with a minimum of 3 females (2 if playing
with only 4 or 5 players).
A team can play with no less than 4 players.
A legal team consists of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6
players. If a team begins with 4 players, only 2 can be considered
front row.
A designated captain for each team can only appeal interpretations
of the rules.
C. Substitutions: Teams have 2 choices of substitutions:
Players shall notify official prior to entering as a substitute.
OPTION I: Person for Person (H.S. Rules)-
Players taken out of the lineup may re-enter the game twice,
but only for the same person.
OPTION II: Entire Team Rotation-
A substitute rotates into a designated position whenever
a rotation occurs.
D. The Game:
A match shall consist of best two out of three games. Each
game is played to 30, win by 2.
A point will be scored on every serve. If team A is serving
and Team B wins the rally, then team B wins a point and the
serve.
Each team is allowed 1 30-second time-out per game.
The official will keep the official score sheet.
Servers may serve from anywhere behind the end line.
The track curtain, ceiling, antenna, and official's stands
are out-of-play.
Players may play the ball off of the net and basketball standards
on their side of the court.
F. Illegal Hits:
1. It is illegal for players to block a serve.
G. Unsportsmanlike Conduct:
1. Fans shall stand on the same side as the team they are
supporting.
2. Players who argue calls with the official are subject
to ejection.
