The Colleges of the Fenway Orchestra brings together students, faculty, and staff from all five colleges and universities to perform a wide array of music. The orchestra works to create an environment where all musicians can explore, learn, perform, and contribute to the COF musical community. The orchestra welcomes musicians of all abilities and experience to engage and enrich the community through the common love of music-making.
MEET OUR NEW CONDUCTOR!
Dr. Erik Peregrine (they/them/theirs) is a visionary conductor, musicologist, and educator whose work centers relationship as the fundamental basis for music-making. Peregrine currently serves as the Director of Choral & Orchestral Activities at Colleges of the Fenway, the artistic director of Ensemble Companio, and the founding director of LIFT!, an independent conducting studio.

All participants are required to register online through the Colleges of the Fenway Mindbody portal. Fall Registration opens on Monday, January 12 at 5:00pm and will remain open through January 27, 2026.
SPRING 2026 REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
Rehearsals start Monday, January 19, 2026.
Mondays, 7:00pm – 9:00pm | Watson Auditorium, Wentworth
Spring 2026 Music Concert – The COF Chorus and Orchestra host a combined concert at the end of each semester. Our Spring concert will take place on Saturday, March 14 at 3pm, Watson Hall Auditorium, Wentworth Campus.
Online Placement Audition Requirements:
Placement auditions are held at the beginning of each semester, and are required for all new members. Returning members are invited to submit an audition to be considered for a principal seat or solo.

- A short solo piece or excerpt for solo or ensemble repertoire of your choice, no longer than 3 minutes.
- Major scales to 3 sharps/3 flats You can perform them at your own pace, articulation, bowing, etc. provided it remains steady in tempo.
Placement Audition Requirements (Percussion)
- Please prepare one to three short pieces or excerpt for Timpani/Snare/Mallet
- A prepared solo excerpt your choice.
There is no fee to participate in this ensemble.
Instrument Rentals
Participants are required to provide their own instruments. Percussion and piano provided. Rentals are available locally through Music & Arts. Costs vary, and are approximately $75/month. The closest rental shop for pick up is 839 Beacon St. Newton Centre, MA 02459 (617) 332-3578.
