RAVE Emergency Alert System

What is RAVE?

RAVE is used to notify the COF institutions of emergencies that occur on or around campuses. The systems are also utilized to inform the community of events such as snowstorms and campus closures. Emergency alerts come via phone calls, texts, and emails.

Who gets RAVE notifications?

Most students, staff, and faculty are automatically enrolled in the system. But others (visitors, parents, etc.) have the ability to join the notification system by using the RAVE opt-in feature.

How do I enroll?

Simply text the campus-specific “keyword” to their corresponding phone number and you will be added to their Emergency Notification System for a period of time. You will receive instructions to renew when your membership is about to expire. For email enrollment, sign in to your institution log in details and confirm email receipt:

How can I find out which sources I should or should not trust?

Misinformation, disinformation, and bad actors seek to confuse and persuade you when a crisis occurs. Learn more about how to determine when you are being manipulated via Truth Labs for Education via Cambridge University on their website.

What other community alerts should I be aware of?
