Take the Green Line(D) to the Longwood or the Fenway station.

From great classics like the finale movement of Tchaikovsky’s Second Symphony and the iconic Danse Macabre to the popular themes from West Side StoryDowntown Abbey, and The Force Awakens, this concert has a little something for everyone.

Want to conduct an orchestra?  Ever played a concerto?  Join the COF Orchestra and meet 60 other like-minded students, faculty and staff. Enjoy learning a broad range of music from Mozart to Gershwin, Bach to Rodgers and Hammerstein! Bridging differences in age, interests, status and experience, students, faculty, staff, and alumni rehearse and perform together, sharing the common goal of creating great live orchestral music.

Friendly auditions will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016, and Thursday, September 29, 2016.  To arrange a time, please contact Kathleen Berger at kberger2000@gmail.com.

The COF Orchestra rehearses every Thursday from 6:30 to 9:00 PM, beginning on October 6, 2016.  They are held in Alumnae Hall, on the Simmons College Residential Campus.

 

COF Orchestra presented “Spring Concert 2016”

Please join them for a performance of Brahms’ iconic Academic Festival Overture; the jubilant Jupiter by Holst; the sonorous harmonies of Grieg’s Spring conducted by conducting competition winner Ruth Levitsky of Simmons College; the beautiful Fauré Élégie performed by our concerto winner, cellist Bryanna Brown, also of Simmons College; a whimsical arrangement of Carnival of the Animals for flute choir; and the ever-popular music to Lord of the Rings.
